Talk to me about translation, science fiction, and aliens. I am fascinated by the paradox of connection; we all want to connect, yet seem to have a spectacularly tough time doing so. How is it that communication is both insufficient and a miracle? Can it be both? Neither? How does translation fit into this? What about intimacy?
